The Generals (Caelan’s summer advanced baseball team) played many non-stop weekend tournaments this summer. We played in Gallatin, Bethesda, Brentwood, Nashville and even Union City, TN for the State tournament. The Generals held their title of the champs in the Bethesda tourney with an undefeated record…and boy did they deserve A LOT of congratulations for playing in the HOT heat that weekend!!!! Then it was off to the district tourney in Brentwood which the Generals played in the heat as well as the pouring rain…did you know that a game could be postponed 3 times in one day?! Regardless they played exceptionally well and came in second place
And finally we were off to Union City to the State tourney…It was a long extended weekend of boys running around the hotel like they were “Zach and Cody” when they weren’t playing baseball. Unfortunately we came in 3rd and didn’t advance to regionals in VA (at that time)…a few days later the team that won declined the tourney and we had the opportunity to go…but again on short notice the boys all couldn’t be there. So what’s our goal for next year…REGIONALS!!!!! The boys played with so much determination and had to endure the extreme hot weather that us grown ups can bearly sit through! I (Ann) am soooo super proud of all the boys, especially my son, Caelan for his hard work with the Generals!!! I always hate when baseball season ends, especially the summer team…now I have to figure out schedules without baseball practices (does that really exist!!!). Congrats to all the Generals!!!
