We had so much fun photographing Lexis for her senior portraits. She is super cute and has the best attitude  We made our way downtown to Bicentennial Mall for the first time, and I’m glad we did! We love that place! How have we not been there before?? Loving the photo of Lexis in between all the trees with the purple flowers  And how cool are all the columns?? Yesterday we shot some new head shots for Katy (pictured on the right), and her friend Addie came for support.  Vito the dog was there too so we took a few shots of the 3 of them. How cute are they? Love impromptu photo shoots! xo

Why should seniors have all the fun?? While we agree that seniors should have their moment in the spotlight (I mean… they did endure high school for 4 years and all ), here at Photographix we think that ALL high school kids should have the opportunity to feel like rock stars!

So we have the brilliant  (yes, brilliant), idea to do best friend shoots! This is a shoot shot by 2 professional, talented, young, fresh… excuse me, I’ve gone off course  photographers. The idea is that you get anywhere from 2-15 of your closest buddies together, pick a time and a place, & we’ll go out and shoot for up to 2 hours. We can go wherever you want, and you dress however you’d like (not what your mom or grandma want ) These sessions are completely 100% for YOU!

Included in your session is 2 photographers, location of your choice, up to 2 hours of shoot time, a website of all your images for 60 days, & up to 5 images on your facebook page. Additional prints and goodies may be purchased via your personalized website.

Jen and I always get the same question about how does someone pick their photographer.  What do you ask…what is important to know?  So here you have it…Selecting the perfect photographer for your occasion!  Here are a few simple tips to making your day or session GREAT!

1.  Find the style or type of photography you are drawn to.  Is it traditional, classic, photojournalistic or the old school look?  Is it images that are bold, colorful and saturated or just a simple black and white that is more dramatic?

2.  Schedule a consultation to find your perfect match.  Whether you meet with 10 photographers or just 1, you need to make sure you are ultimately comfortable with them!  Nobody wants to spend the day or session with someone that you are unsure about…client or photographer!

3.  Look at more of their work including albums, prints, and other products.  Make sure that the quality is what you are expecting from them.

4.  Ask about their photographic accomplishments.  You would be amazed by what you might not know about your potential photographer!

5.  When you hire your photographer, keep in touch with them over the weeks or months leading up to your event.  Have meetings, talk via email or go have coffee to chat.  Clients are NOT just clients…they are friends!  Everyone loves to be in the loop and this helps builds your new friendship.  More than likely if your experience is great, you will be working together again in the future.
